In this program F.I.R.S.T. Choice Training provides participants instruction in identifying and classifying confined spaces and permit required confined spaces, the hazards associated with these spaces and the entry procedures required by Federal OSHA 1910.146 or the representative state OSHA. The program covers an overview of the OSHA regulations including personnel requirements and duties, assessing the spaces for hazards, controlling hazards, atmospheric monitoring procedures and requirements, entry permits, entry procedures, lock-out / tag-out procedures, training requirements and duties of entrants, attendants and entry supervisors, rescue team requirements, and operations in the space including hot work, maintenance, cleaning and rescue.


Upon completion, the student will be able to demonstrate knowledge of the following topics:

  • Personnel requirements and duties
  • Assesment of spaces for controlling hazards
  • Atmospheric monitoring and look out / tag out procedures
